Vice-president of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, former president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, chairman of the Ranking Board. Michał Kleiber is a specialist in the field of mechanics and computer science. He represented Poland in the Council of Governors of the EU Research Center and was the Polish delegate to the Steering Committee "Sustainable Growth" under the 5th Framework Program of the EU.
In the years 2001 - 2005 Michał Kleiber was the minister of science and informatization and chairman of the Scientific Research Committee. In 2005 he was elected a member of the European Science Council in Brussels and the president of the European Materials Forum in Strasbourg. He was a member of the Steering Committee of the Governing Board of the European Science Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg, and the Social Adviser to the President of the Republic of Poland for research and development. He was a member of the Education and Research Council established in 2008 with the President of the Republic of Poland. Since 2010 he has been the vice-chairman of the Social Council for the Development of Low-emission Economy. He lectured in Germany, USA and Japan.
