President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (KRASP), rector of the Warsaw University of Technology. A graduate of the Faculty of Electronics at Warsaw University of Technology. In the years 1985-2002 he was the head of the didactic team and the "Semiconductor Instruments" laboratory in the Department of Microelectronics, in 1984 he completed the practice at the CEMI Scientific and Production Semiconductor Center in Warsaw, and in 1990 at Carnegie Mellon University (USA).
He has completed over 60 research works in cooperation with teams of Polish research centers as well as foreign ones.Author and co-author of two monographs and ten chapters in Polish and English-language books, including: NATO ASI Series, Kluwer Academic Publishers and Elsevier, and over 580 scientific publications. He participated in the implementation of several international research projects. Author or co-author of 14 patent applications. Member of 25 scientific councils, currently the Scientific and Industrial Council with the Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense (since 2014), the Scientific Council of the Institute of Aviation (2015-19). In 2008-12, the dean of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology.
